One of the most recent reports of myiasis in a nursing home comes from a facility in North Carolina. According to Newsweek, a resident of the facility had an open wound in her heel that became infested with maggots. A staff worker at the facility sent the resident’s grandson a video of the creatures crawling out from under his grandmother’s skin. The facility has a history of 21 previous health and safety violations, some netting heavy fines. My Mammaw was in one and her nurse was very attentive and she was always clean.
The First Patient To Die
The man was a Christian, as was his wife, and his wife said she saw this black presence descend above him and his breathing would become labored. She asked myself and a friend to pray for her which we gladly did being Christians ourselves. We anointed and blessed the room and prayed with the family and asked the Lord to seal the room. From that time on the room was filled with peace and love and the man breathed so much more easier.
When she came in for her shift the next evening she discovered that a previously perfectly fine child in that room had had a sudden seizure and died only a few hours after she’d found the open faucet. I walked around to make sure it wasn’t a lost visitor and there was no one there. There’s no way out other than the door, and it was out of my sight line for maybe a second max. One particular 3-year-old boy doesn’t have family come visit. He never really communicates with staff and would only occasionally chatter to himself.

Another weird thing about the apparition is that it is always seen by just the RN. Not a single CNA has personally seen the apparition. My mom always said that he knew who would be able to help the most at the time. I, on the other hand, took it as the completely opposite. I always thought that it was almost to mock the RNs because he would let them know that something was going to happen but they could not do anything about it. Even though I am not an RN to see him, it still creeps me out every time I walk down the halls and she points out where she has seen him.

Horror Stories From Nurses That'll Make You Squirm

The lost nearly 40 pounds that she didn’t have to spare. She always said she wasn’t hungry, but managed to eat if I fed her. I asked the staff several times if they couldn’t please make it a point to have someone help her eat at least once a day. I was always told that they did the best they could and Gigi was eating as she should.
The administrator of the nursing home called it a freak occurrence that did not reflect on the quality of care provided at the facility. Family members of the resident disagreed and filed a lawsuit. • While I was still a student nurse I was working in a VERY old hospital. They were renovating one of the wards so the staff were advised they can sleep on that ward in the completed rooms until it was opened up again.

One night I was sleeping in one of the rooms with a fellow nurse when suddenly I hear a scream from the bathroom. I fly out of bed to find my co-nurse huddled in the corner farthest from the mirror. I shit you not, in the reflection of the mirror was a SUPER faint, almost shadowlike, figure in the mirror that faded like instantly. I knew it wasn’t one of our shadows because there was a light directly above the sink & mirror.
